CHILD COUNSELLING

Childhood is a time of growth, learning, and discovery - but can also bring challenges that feel big for kids (and their parents). Kids are constantly figuring out how to handle their emotions and make sense of the world around them. Through curiosity, conversation, and connection, we help kids build lifelong skills to use now—and as they grow.

Sessions with kids help with the following:

  • Strengthening emotion regulation to help children manage big feelings—such as frustration, anger, or sadness, in more constructive and calming ways.

  • Enhancing focus, impulse control, and problem-solving skills through practical strategies and consistent routines tailored to their needs.

  • Fostering self-esteem and confidence by celebrating each child’s strengths and supporting their ability to learn from mistakes.

  • Improving relationships with others by developing social skills, increasing communication abilities, and learning to navigate rejection and peer challenges.

Support for Parents

Parenting a child with big emotions or unique needs can be both rewarding and challenging. That’s why we offer dedicated parent support sessions as part of the counselling process. These sessions provide a space to reflect, recharge, and learn helpful tools to support your child with greater ease and confidence.

Here’s how parent sessions can help:

  • Understand Your Child’s Unique Brain. Learn how your child’s brain works and why certain behaviours happen. This understanding can help you respond in ways that are both supportive and aligned with your family’s values.

  • Develop a Personalized Toolkit. Discover simple, effective strategies that are tailored to your child’s needs. Gain confidence in navigating everyday challenges.

  • Strengthen Emotional Awareness. Develop greater awareness of your own emotional responses so you can stay calm in difficult moments and model healthy ways to manage big feelings.

Every family is unique. Our goal is to support in ways that foster deeper connection and reflect what matters most to your family.
